The 2023 Postre is a fresh and vibrant Port-Style wine. Boasting bright notes of blueberry and blackberry complemented by a note of white pepper that comes from the fusel alcohols of the grape brandy. Hints of toast and chocolate round out the nose for a fresh dessert wine experience.
On the palate, this wine is balanced by the alcohol and sugar from the sugar, it wasn't fined so still packs in all of the bold tannin that the grapes originally had in the vineyard. This wine is semi-sweet for a Port, which complements the fresh fruit aromas that Starfield wines are known for, while the finish has just enough bite while maintaining a pleasant, smooth finish. This wine will age like a Port and could go for 10-20 years easily, but it's amazing now!
