Tasting Notes

The 2020 Jacks Are Wild possesses the true essence of a bold red blend! The most robust and structured fruit was hand-selected and aged for 18 months in 50% new French oak to create a blend of Petite Sirah, Tempranillo, and Aglianico that is as elegant as it is powerful and rich. You are first drawn in by the deeply opaque ruby color and vibrant floral aromatics of hibiscus and geranium. Notes of brambly blackberry, French vanilla, and milk chocolate are supported by hints of caramelized figs, black pepper, and brioche. The enticing palate leads with flavors of blueberry, cherry jam, and currant with a backdrop of eucalyptus forest. This blend has impeccable balance and a rounded, luxurious mouthfeel, finishing with a swathe of polished tannins. This wine is fantastic now but will continue to age famously for the next 10 to 15 years.

The Jacks Are Wild name celebrates Tom's family heritage and the Jack family's legendary fall barbeques! Each fall on the family cattle ranch, they would celebrate with family, friends, and neighbors who helped make it a success! On any farm, be it cattle, grapes, or other agriculture, it takes a village to bring it all in. We invite you to savor this wine and to celebrate your own 'roundup' with your loved ones.
