The 2019 Mourvèdre is boldly aromatic, yet deceptively elegant. Delicate floral notes of gardenia and rosewater lead into intense aromas of spiced plum, ripe black mission fig, and cassis. Earthy & herbal aromas of bay leaf, toasted almond, and smoked vanilla complete this intricately woven bouquet. The palate is elegant and reserved, with fresh-picked blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, and cinnamon. The finish is never-ending, with polished tannins that keep you going back for another sip.

We have two clones of Mourvèdre, one planted at 2,400', adjacent to the Rose Arbor, and one planted at 2,350' at the top of the ridge. In both blocks, the grapes ripen on gentle south-facing slopes, ideal for sun-loving vines like Mourvèdre, allowing the fruit to fully develop the black fruit and herbal notes that characterize these wines.
